Questions

Is my R56 an N14 or an N18?
Roughly: Cooper S and JCW built up to 2010 are N14, from 2011 on they are N18. The N18 got a revised timing chain and a different high-pressure pump — the two are not the same to calibrate, which is why we ask for the VIN first.
My engine rattles on cold start. Should I map it?
Same engine as the Peugeot 207 GT?
Direct injection — do the valves carbon up?
