Who is MS Labs
MS Labs, based in Greece, was founded by Dimitris Stasinopoulos and builds standalone engine computers based on MegaSquirt. It started in 2006, and in 2010 released the first plug-and-play MS2 for the Mazda MX-5 / Miata — followed in 2013 by the first plug-and-play MS3 for the same car.
Their philosophy, as they put it, is to “listen to the MegaSquirt community” and solve real-world problems. The ECUs are designed and inspected in-house — SMD, anodized aluminium enclosures — across the Mini, Basic, Enhanced and Extreme MS3 lines.

Why MS Labs — and only MS Labs
17 years ago our first standalone applications were done on Yiannis’s own car, running an MS2 ECU. Ever since, we’ve used Dimitris’s products (MS Labs) exclusively — ECUs built specifically for the MX-5 and evolved on it, generation after generation.
Why not other brands?
Because it works, we know it inside out, and we have Dimitris’s full support anytime — unlike the big brands that don’t care about aftersales. When you build hundreds of MX-5s on the same ECU for 17 years, you know exactly where every number goes. That isn’t bought — it’s built.

Universal ECUs (Link, Haltech et al.) are excellent — they’re just not built for the MX-5 the way MS Labs is.

How remote tuning works — step by step
Never tuned a car before? No problem. Here's exactly what you'll do:

Get the software
Install TunerStudio (free) on your laptop. Zero experience needed — we guide you through it.
- 02
Connect via USB
The MS Labs standalone connects with a plain USB cable. You load the base map we send you.
- 03
Drive & datalog
Drive normally for 100–200 km while TunerStudio records a datalog. One tap to record.
- 04
Send us the logs
Upload the datalogs — Yiannis analyses them and revises the calibration.
- 05
Get your revision
We send the new map, you load it, you drive again. Repeat until it is exactly right.
- 06
Done
Your car runs a custom map — refined datalog-by-datalog, as if you were on our dyno.
