Factory output for the Jeep Wrangler 2.8 CRD is 200 hp and 410 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 242 hp and 527 Nm — 42 hp (+21%) and 117 Nm (+29%).

Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.

Where the 117 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 410 Nm to 527 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Jeep Wrangler actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 200 hp to 242 hp, but you will feel the 117 Nm far more often than the 42 hp.

What Stage 1 involves on a Jeep Wrangler

We read the ECU, log the car as it stands, and put it on the dyno to confirm the 200 hp baseline — a tired or faulty engine gets diagnosed before it gets mapped, not after.

The calibration is written for your car, not pulled from a file library. We adjust fuelling, ignition timing, injection timing and boost, then re-run the dyno to verify the 242 hp and 527 Nm figure and check knock, lambda and temperatures under load.
