Factory output for the Chevrolet Express 6.6 V8 is 250 hp and 624 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 280 hp and 660 Nm — 30 hp (+12%) and 36 Nm (+6%).

Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.

Where the 36 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 624 Nm to 660 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Chevrolet Express actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 250 hp to 280 hp, but you will feel the 36 Nm far more often than the 30 hp.
