Where the 59 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 310 Nm to 369 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Skoda Fabia actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 130 hp to 172 hp, but you will feel the 59 Nm far more often than the 42 hp.
