What 37 hp changes on the road

A turbocharged petrol responds to a remap mostly through boost and ignition timing. Taking the 1.0 TSI from 95 hp to 132 hp, with torque from 175 Nm to 247 Nm, sharpens throttle response and shortens the gap between asking for power and getting it — the car stops feeling like it is thinking about it first.

Gains of this size (+39%) are normal for this kind of engine on pump fuel, with no hardware changes.

What Stage 1 involves on a Skoda Scala

We read the ECU, log the car as it stands, and put it on the dyno to confirm the 95 hp baseline — a tired or faulty engine gets diagnosed before it gets mapped, not after.

The calibration is written for your car, not pulled from a file library. We adjust fuelling, ignition timing and boost pressure, then re-run the dyno to verify the 132 hp and 247 Nm figure and check knock, lambda and temperatures under load.
