Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.

Where the 70 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 230 Nm to 300 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Ford Transit Connect actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 95 hp to 120 hp, but you will feel the 70 Nm far more often than the 25 hp.
