Factory output for the Citroën Berlingo 1.6 Hdif 8V is 112 hp and 260 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 140 hp and 300 Nm — 28 hp (+25%) and 40 Nm (+15%).
Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.
Where the 40 Nm shows up
On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 260 Nm to 300 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Citroën Berlingo actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.
Peak power moves too, 112 hp to 140 hp, but you will feel the 40 Nm far more often than the 28 hp.
What Stage 1 involves on a Citroën Berlingo
We read the ECU, log the car as it stands, and put it on the dyno to confirm the 112 hp baseline — a tired or faulty engine gets diagnosed before it gets mapped, not after.
The calibration is written for your car, not pulled from a file library. We adjust fuelling, ignition timing, injection timing and boost, then re-run the dyno to verify the 140 hp and 300 Nm figure and check knock, lambda and temperatures under load.
Turnaround is same-day for most cars. Stock file is archived, so the car can go back to standard whenever you want.
