What 23 hp changes on the road
A turbocharged petrol responds to a remap mostly through boost and ignition timing. Taking the 1.6 THP from 167 hp to 190 hp, with torque from 245 Nm to 320 Nm, sharpens throttle response and shortens the gap between asking for power and getting it — the car stops feeling like it is thinking about it first.
Gains of this size (+14%) are normal for this kind of engine on pump fuel, with no hardware changes.
What Stage 1 involves on a Citroën C3-XR
We read the ECU, log the car as it stands, and put it on the dyno to confirm the 167 hp baseline — a tired or faulty engine gets diagnosed before it gets mapped, not after.
The calibration is written for your car, not pulled from a file library. We adjust fuelling, ignition timing and boost pressure, then re-run the dyno to verify the 190 hp and 320 Nm figure and check knock, lambda and temperatures under load.
