Factory output for the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer 218d is 150 hp and 360 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 190 hp and 400 Nm — 40 hp (+27%) and 40 Nm (+11%).

Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.

Where the 40 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 360 Nm to 400 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a BMW 2 Series Active Tourer actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.
