Where the 104 Nm shows up
On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 900 Nm to 1004 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where an Audi Q8 actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.
Peak power moves too, 435 hp to 506 hp, but you will feel the 104 Nm far more often than the 71 hp.

The calibration is written for your car, not pulled from a file library. We adjust fuelling, ignition timing, injection timing and boost, then re-run the dyno to verify the 506 hp and 1004 Nm figure and check knock, lambda and temperatures under load.
