Where the 117 Nm shows up
On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 320 Nm to 437 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where an Audi A3 Saloon actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.
Peak power moves too, 150 hp to 200 hp, but you will feel the 117 Nm far more often than the 50 hp.
