Where the 16 Nm shows up
On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 207 Nm to 223 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Toyota Auris actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.
