Renault Clio Stage 1: 90 hp → 117 hp
Factory output for the Renault Clio 1.5 dCi is 90 hp and 220 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 117 hp and 308 Nm — 27 hp (+30%) and 88 Nm (+40%).
Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.
Where the 88 Nm shows up
On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 220 Nm to 308 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Renault Clio actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.
Peak power moves too, 90 hp to 117 hp, but you will feel the 88 Nm far more often than the 27 hp.
What Stage 1 involves on a Renault Clio
We read the ECU, log the car as it stands, and put it on the dyno to confirm the 90 hp baseline — a tired or faulty engine gets diagnosed before it gets mapped, not after.
The calibration is written for your car, not pulled from a file library. We adjust fuelling, ignition timing, injection timing and boost, then re-run the dyno to verify the 117 hp and 308 Nm figure and check knock, lambda and temperatures under load.
Turnaround is same-day for most cars. Stock file is archived, so the car can go back to standard whenever you want.
