Factory output for the Renault Clio 1.3 TCe is 140 hp and 260 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 170 hp and 303 Nm — 30 hp (+21%) and 43 Nm (+17%).

Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.

What 30 hp changes on the road

A turbocharged petrol responds to a remap mostly through boost and ignition timing. Taking the 1.3 TCe from 140 hp to 170 hp, with torque from 260 Nm to 303 Nm, sharpens throttle response and shortens the gap between asking for power and getting it — the car stops feeling like it is thinking about it first.

Gains of this size (+21%) are normal for this kind of engine on pump fuel, with no hardware changes.

What Stage 1 involves on a Renault Clio

We read the ECU, log the car as it stands, and put it on the dyno to confirm the 140 hp baseline — a tired or faulty engine gets diagnosed before it gets mapped, not after.

The calibration is written for your car, not pulled from a file library. We adjust fuelling, ignition timing and boost pressure, then re-run the dyno to verify the 170 hp and 303 Nm figure and check knock, lambda and temperatures under load.

Turnaround is same-day for most cars. Stock file is archived, so the car can go back to standard whenever you want.
