Factory output for the Opel Insignia 2.0 CDTI Bi-turbo is 195 hp and 400 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 225 hp and 480 Nm — 30 hp (+15%) and 80 Nm (+20%).
Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.
Where the 80 Nm shows up
On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 400 Nm to 480 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where an Opel Insignia actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.
Peak power moves too, 195 hp to 225 hp, but you will feel the 80 Nm far more often than the 30 hp.
What Stage 1 involves on an Opel Insignia
We read the ECU, log the car as it stands, and put it on the dyno to confirm the 195 hp baseline — a tired or faulty engine gets diagnosed before it gets mapped, not after.
The calibration is written for your car, not pulled from a file library. We adjust fuelling, ignition timing, injection timing and boost, then re-run the dyno to verify the 225 hp and 480 Nm figure and check knock, lambda and temperatures under load.
Turnaround is same-day for most cars. Stock file is archived, so the car can go back to standard whenever you want.
