Nissan Primastar Stage 1: 146 hp → 172 hp

Factory output for the Nissan Primastar 2.5 dCi is 146 hp and 320 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 172 hp and 405 Nm — 26 hp (+18%) and 85 Nm (+27%).

Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.

Where the 85 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 320 Nm to 405 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Nissan Primastar actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 146 hp to 172 hp, but you will feel the 85 Nm far more often than the 26 hp.

We read the ECU, log the car as it stands, and put it on the dyno to confirm the 146 hp baseline — a tired or faulty engine gets diagnosed before it gets mapped, not after.

The calibration is written for your car, not pulled from a file library. We adjust fuelling, ignition timing, injection timing and boost, then re-run the dyno to verify the 172 hp and 405 Nm figure and check knock, lambda and temperatures under load.

Turnaround is same-day for most cars. Stock file is archived, so the car can go back to standard whenever you want.
