Factory output for the Mini Cooper S D 2.0D is 136 hp and 305 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 180 hp and 400 Nm — 44 hp (+32%) and 95 Nm (+31%).

Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.

Where the 95 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 305 Nm to 400 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Mini Cooper S D actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 136 hp to 180 hp, but you will feel the 95 Nm far more often than the 44 hp.
