Factory output for the Mazda CX-5 2.2 Skyactiv-d is 150 hp and 380 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 210 hp and 480 Nm — 60 hp (+40%) and 100 Nm (+26%).

Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.

Where the 100 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 380 Nm to 480 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Mazda CX-5 actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 150 hp to 210 hp, but you will feel the 100 Nm far more often than the 60 hp.

The calibration is written for your car, not pulled from a file library. We adjust fuelling, ignition timing, injection timing and boost, then re-run the dyno to verify the 210 hp and 480 Nm figure and check knock, lambda and temperatures under load.
