Factory output for the Hyundai Tucson 1.6 CRDi is 136 hp and 320 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 160 hp and 360 Nm — 24 hp (+18%) and 40 Nm (+13%).

Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.

Where the 40 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 320 Nm to 360 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Hyundai Tucson actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 136 hp to 160 hp, but you will feel the 40 Nm far more often than the 24 hp.
