Factory output for the Hyundai i20 1.4 CRDi is 90 hp and 220 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 125 hp and 290 Nm — 35 hp (+39%) and 70 Nm (+32%).

Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.

Where the 70 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 220 Nm to 290 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Hyundai i20 actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 90 hp to 125 hp, but you will feel the 70 Nm far more often than the 35 hp.
