Where the 65 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 340 Nm to 405 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Honda Accord actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 140 hp to 188 hp, but you will feel the 65 Nm far more often than the 48 hp.
