Factory output for the Citroen Berlingo 1.6 BlueHDi is 100 hp and 254 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 137 hp and 325 Nm — 37 hp (+37%) and 71 Nm (+28%).

Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.

Where the 71 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 254 Nm to 325 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a Citroen Berlingo actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 100 hp to 137 hp, but you will feel the 71 Nm far more often than the 37 hp.

What Stage 1 involves on a Citroen Berlingo

We read the ECU, log the car as it stands, and put it on the dyno to confirm the 100 hp baseline — a tired or faulty engine gets diagnosed before it gets mapped, not after.

The calibration is written for your car, not pulled from a file library. We adjust fuelling, ignition timing, injection timing and boost, then re-run the dyno to verify the 137 hp and 325 Nm figure and check knock, lambda and temperatures under load.
