BMW X1 Stage 1: 116 hp → 150 hp

Factory output for the BMW X1 Sdrive16d is 116 hp and 270 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 150 hp and 330 Nm — 34 hp (+29%) and 60 Nm (+22%).

Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.

Where the 60 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 270 Nm to 330 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where a BMW X1 actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 116 hp to 150 hp, but you will feel the 60 Nm far more often than the 34 hp.

What Stage 1 involves on a BMW X1

We read the ECU, log the car as it stands, and put it on the dyno to confirm the 116 hp baseline — a tired or faulty engine gets diagnosed before it gets mapped, not after.

The calibration is written for your car, not pulled from a file library. We adjust fuelling, ignition timing, injection timing and boost, then re-run the dyno to verify the 150 hp and 330 Nm figure and check knock, lambda and temperatures under load.

Turnaround is same-day for most cars. Stock file is archived, so the car can go back to standard whenever you want.
