Where the 23 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 500 Nm to 523 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where an Audi A7 actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 190 hp to 275 hp, but you will feel the 23 Nm far more often than the 85 hp.
