Factory output for the Audi 80 1.9 TDI is 90 hp and 202 Nm. A Stage 1 remap targets 115 hp and 260 Nm — 25 hp (+28%) and 58 Nm (+29%).

Those are the figures we work to on this engine. They are a starting point, not a promise: the number we hand back is the one your car makes on our dyno, measured before and after on the same day, in the same conditions.

Where the 58 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 202 Nm to 260 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where an Audi 80 actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 90 hp to 115 hp, but you will feel the 58 Nm far more often than the 25 hp.

We read the ECU, log the car as it stands, and put it on the dyno to confirm the 90 hp baseline — a tired or faulty engine gets diagnosed before it gets mapped, not after.

The calibration is written for your car, not pulled from a file library. We adjust fuelling, ignition timing, injection timing and boost, then re-run the dyno to verify the 115 hp and 260 Nm figure and check knock, lambda and temperatures under load.
