Where the 51 Nm shows up

On a diesel the useful change is torque, not peak power. Going from 200 Nm to 251 Nm fills in the mid-range, which is where an Alfa Romeo Mito actually spends its time — pulling from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm in a high gear, overtaking without dropping two gears, towing or carrying weight without the engine falling on its face.

Peak power moves too, 90 hp to 117 hp, but you will feel the 51 Nm far more often than the 27 hp.
