What Makes DMS Cams Different?

Dyno-developed profiles — not catalog grinds from a third-party supplier

Optimized for VVT — works with the factory variable valve timing system

Street-friendly idle — maintains acceptable idle quality for daily driving

Matched to DMS tunes — our ECU calibrations are built around these exact profiles

Requirements

Upgraded valve springs recommended for engines exceeding 7,200 RPM

ECU recalibration required (Stage 2 tune)

Professional installation recommended

Designed, tested, and proven on our dyno. The heart of every DMS performance build.

Fitting & cam-timing instructions (DMS Stage 2 Duratec)

Valve clearances (cold): Intake 0.20–0.25 mm · Exhaust 0.25–0.32 mm — always use these, not the OEM values. Lift at TDC (timing section) is measured with clearance, not zero.

Before fitting:

Wash the cams in fresh water — especially the hollow cams — to remove any grinding-wheel residue.

Lubricate the cam lobes, bearings and tappet surface (not the perimeter) with proper cam assembly oil.

Piston-to-valve check: at full overlap with the piston at TDC, confirm at least 1.5 mm clearance before valve-to-piston contact.

Running in: start the engine and hold 1500–2000 rpm for 15 minutes — do not idle.

Important: do not use launch control — it damages valves, valve seats, tappets and cams.
